The schools public speaking team competed in the local rounds of the Kerry Mental Health Public Speaking Competition in late November 2010.
This competition was a wonderful opportunity to learn about speaking in front of people and to build confidence. We spoke on a range of different topics about Mental Health such as education, role models and growing up. As well as having a great time we learnt loads about mental health! Although the team didn’t get through to the next round we had a great time, it certainly was an experience we’ll never forget. I’d also like to say a huge thank you to Ms O Brien who mentored us and Ms Costello who came with us on the night. It was a brilliant experience for all and I’d definitely encourage anyone to give it a go!
