The Crocus Project was launches in Ireland in 2005 by the Holocaust Education Trust Ireland.
The current 5th year students have planted crocus bulbs in numerous flower boxes outside the main office entrance.
These bulbs were planted in the autumn in memory of the one and a half million Jewish children and thousands of other children who died in the Holocaust. The yellow flowers recall the yellow Star of David which all Jews were forced to wear under Nazi rule.
The flowers remind us of the sufferings endured by so many but also that there is still beauty in the world and hope for the our future.
