Lillie, Saoirse and Rachel with some supporters!

Last week, Lillie Foley, first year, was crowed the winner of the Community Games Under 14 solo singing competition.

Lillie, from Killarney, has been singing for the past four years. Under the guidance of Marie O’Leary, Lillie has been rehearing constantly over the past number of weeks, even on Sunday afternoons!

The Competition was held in Milltown hall on Sunday 8th February. There was a great turn out for the event with people travelling from all corners of Kerry to attend this special occasion. The competition was tough with 16 others also battling for the title.
Lillie had five minutes to win the judges over. Lillie chose to sing ‘At Last’ by Etta James. Indeed, this performance won the judges favour and Lillie took home the title of Community Games Under 14 Solo Singer of Kerry.

community gamesSaoirse Bennett and Rachel Hoctor, also sang in the Competition last Sunday. Both placed second in their categories. Well done to both students involved.

Lillie will travel to the All Ireland Community Games in Athlone this August to represent her county.

Best of Luck Lillie.
